First 2007 North American Tour Dates Announced!

Well, Puffy made good on what we had all suspected. North American tour dates this November. This time, it's you guys on the west coast getting the love and us back east getting the shaft. Well, only for now, hopefully... although I do seem to recall that the west didn't get a visit at all last time around. Maybe it's time for us to repay the favor.

UPDATE: Puffy's staff blog and MySpace page now refer to these dates specifically as "West Coast" tour dates, which wouldn't be necessary if this was the extent of the US tour. I'm sure that there are more dates still to come...

Anyway, here are the announced dates (edited now with pricing info from Puffy's site):

I'm really not sure why they need to play Los Angeles and Anaheim, but what the hey. Kinda like playing New York City and Yonkers.

Astute readers will note that this is only one week. They had six of them free in between Japan dates. So I'm hopeful they've still got some east coast - and maybe even some middle America - dates in the works. We'll see.

This also raises the prospects of a US honeycreeper release pretty dramatically, I think. So good news all around, even with only the west representin' right now.

  1. WOO-HOO! Now, THERE'S some good news! Now I gotta convice my wife to head out to LA and see them. Have you seen them live? Thanks for the update, and here's keeping my fingers crossed for an American release!

  2. Of course I've seen them live! Check out the "show reports" link on the right. The August 2005 show was the better one. That's what turned me from a casual fan into something on a whole other level. They were really, really amazing at that show. Ami said later she thought it was their best show ever, and she still says New York is her favorite place to play. (Yumi's a west coast girl.)

But they're always good, especially if you think, as I kinda did, that they're really still sort of manufactured pop. That's totally not what comes across live. They're really *them* live. And they definitely know how to connect with a crowd. And they're great live singers - they often sound better than they do on the albums.

  3. After 2 years, Puffy return to the West Coast. I didn't know the Key Club venue was TBD. Does that refer to the time or the desicion on the venue they play at? I already got my ticket, so I guess I'll just wait and see. And the House of Blues site isn't selling tickets yet. I hope I can get tickets soon.

  4. I'm sure the "TBD" is for the time - it's in the same spot where the time is listed for the other venues. I don't think they'd list the venue specifically if they weren't sure yet that it was going to be there. I'm sure that you can just call the venue to find out when the doors open - I used to do that all the time because I never trust what it says on the ticket.
