P'FES Final Line-Up

I will give a lot of credit to Puffy here, this is a great line-up of a two day festival to celebrate their 30th anniversary.  In all likelihood a one off, but stranger things have happened.  More details on the official P'FES page.

A huge plus is that Ami and Yumi will be front the festival in a really big venue: Tokyu Dresser Todoroki Arena.  It holds about 6500 people in a normal configuration, so likely a bit more with floor seating.  It is a sports venue first, so sound quality might be a bit echoey.  I cannot recall the last time they played this big of a venue.  The arena is located in Kawasaki, so due south of Tokyo, which by train is about an hour from Tokyo Station or Shibuya Station.  Seems like most festivals Puffy have done have been very remote relative to Tokyo so there is no barrier here for fans.

Tickets are 130,000 yen each day or a combo ticket is 250,000 yen.  Pretty reasonable considering the line up. Unicorn and GLAY provide a good foundation for the other acts and Puffy as the headliner. Neither are particularly surprising. Ami's husband is in GLAY and it would seem strange they they not play here.  Likewise  Given Tamio Okuda's closer relationship with Puffy since the start assured Unicorn would be there.  The surprising person not on the festival roster is Nanase Aikawa, who is very close to Yumi.  You never know, sometimes there are surprises.

One thing I think will be interesting is how the show finale shapes up.  I would be shocked if it were not the festival line up collaborating for "Asia no Junshin."  Lots of possibilities.

Given a host of various issues I cannot see a way I can jet out for the festival so I will have to likely find show reports and build an article off of those.

Lastly, if Puffy does wind down this year, this is the kind of thing that it a great capstone to a legendary career.
